O-Ring Seals
• Fluoroelastomer
Fluoroelastomer is the most specified fluoroelastomer, well known for its excellent heat (400 OF/200 OC) resistance. Fluoroelastomer offers excellentresistance to aggressive fuels and chemicals. Whether your application is automotive, chemical processing or any number of other industrial applications, there is a particular type of Fluoroelastomer that best meets your specific performance requirements.
• Nitrile Butadiene Rubber, NBR
Nitrile Butadiene Rubber is a family of unsaturated copolymers of 2-propenenitrile and various butadiene monomers (1,2-butadiene and 1,3-butadiene). Although its physical and chemical properties vary depending on the polymer’s composition of nitrile, this form of synthetic rubber is generally resistant to oil, fuel, and other chemicals (the more nitrile within the polymer, the higher resistance to oils but the lower the flexibility of the material).
Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer, EPDM is an elastomer which is characterized by a wide range of applications. This rubber is used in a wide variety of applications ranging from automotive hoses, belts and weatherseals to gaskets, roof sheeting, and glazing seals to wire and cable insulation. Vistalon EPDM offers outstanding weather resistance, excellent physical properties at very high filler loadings and good processability and chemical/electrical properties. Performance advantages included ozone resistance, excellent insulation stability in water, long service life, even in extreme environmental conditions, EPDM can use with maximum temperature up to 150 OC (302 OF) service rating.
• Polytetrafluoroethylene, PTFE
Polytetrafluoroethylene, PTFE is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene that finds numerous applications. PTFE is most well known by the DuPont brand name Teflon. Polytretrafluoroethylene have exceptional resistance to high temperatures, chemical reaction, corrosion, and stress-cracking. The mechanical toughness, electrical, and low-friction properties of Teflon make it the preferred plastic for a host of applications and different processing techniques.
